The European DreamFab Project, led by Häme University of Applied Sciences, has the mission to boost innovation and sustainability in the construction industry, with the aim of reducing the environmental impact of building steel buildings, promoting the reuse of materials. Based on the development of rules and guidelines for structural safety in the reuse and re-manufacturing of building components in metallic construction, with the aim of allowing the elements to be reused without resorting to energy-intensive recycling processes. It also foresees developments relating to the assembly and disassembly of structural elements assisted by robots.
The IAMFat European Project aims to use WAAM technology to manufacture structural components where traditional welding technology or other known methods have reached technological barriers. The aim is for this technology to be applied to components that require high fatigue resistance, according to an intelligent approach of advanced numerical simulation, improving the efficiency, sustainability and performance of final products.
